Happy Bird-Day to You!

It's time for me to share my March card with you at Craft-Dee BowZ where the challenge for the Design Team has been pets, bugs or animals and we've used the colors green, brown and yellow. You don't have to use animals or any special colors in our challenge since our challenge for you is ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A HANDMADE BOW.  I used a pre-colored image from The Paper Shelter for my toucan that is over 2 years old now and I enhanced him a bit with my Copic markers. I cut out three Sizzix Hawaiian leaves, colored them with my markers, used assorted flower punches in oranges and yellows and added teal green glass flat back uncut jewels in the center of each (on the tiny flowers I used teal green paint and made my own centers).

The yellow background paper was made with a fern stamp that I bought in the 1980's from Hero Arts when they sold all individual stamps. I unmounted it from the wood when the foam decayed but will never forget buying this stamp since it was one of my first. I stamped it all over the yellow paper with my Versamark pad and then used yellow pearl embossing powder. The die around my image is by Spellbinders.

My bow is made of yellow satin ribbon and is a double loop with an extra tail tied within the knot. It adds so much to my card and the yellow polka dot button and white embroidery thread finished it off. I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool for this bow and adding the extra tail within the knot was easy peasy since I didn't have to hold the bow in my hand and try to do it. My little bow maker is so easy to use and saves me so much time!

I'm glad you stopped by to see my card and I hope it inspires you to join the challenge at Craft-Dee BowZ where ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A HANDMADE BOW. I hope you've enjoyed seeing the Design Team's creations this month and you've got a few more days to get your card posted here before the drawing!

Lucky to have You...Cute as a bug!

I'm up today on the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog with a wee bit of Irish inspiration on this St. Patrick's Day!

For the month of March, the Design Team is creating with the colors of green, yellow and brown along with animals including bugs and pets.  And since today is St. Patrick's Day, what could be more Irish than shamrocks?  My "Lucky to have You!" card inspiration also includes lucky four leaf clovers and cute little ladybugs, which are also a symbol of luck.

"Lucky to have You!"

The background on this 6"x 6" card was made using a piece of green specialty paper cut into 4 blocks and matted with a black card base.  I placed 4 smaller cut doilies in the center of each block.  A white doily is layered between two patterned paper doilies and placed in the center of the blocks using pop dots for dimension.  I printed the sentiment and used the smallest doily to cut it out.  I tucked in green shamrocks and four leaf clovers edged with gold glitter randomly around the doilies.  The red velvet heart was cut using the shamrock die and added over the green leaf.  The lady bugs added more good luck to the card theme.  I placed the green bow with checked ribbon tails and a few green leaves in the lower right corner.  A  lady bug and "cute as a bug" tag complete this fun card.

"Cute as a bug!"

This lady bug is nesting comfortably on top of the yummy bow created with my Craft-Dee BowZ Bow Making Tool.  It's always nearby in my crafting space!  It makes creating bows so easy. Click on the tab at the top of the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog and order one for yourself.  You'll be so happy you did!

so here is my project featuring the cutest cats ever...all loved up on a congratulations  card I have made for a sweet couple who have just gotten engaged.I used a digital image from Robins fetishes called Pussycatluv. I have coloured the image with promarkers. The flowers are made using dies from heartfelt creations. I used a banner die from memory box.The papers are free digi papers from summerdriggs designs. The cat charm and buttons are from my stash. The stunning satin ribbon and pretty metallic butterfly were given to the DT  to play with by Barbara and Donna ..I used my Craft-Dee Bowz maker to make the pretty triple bow...The bow making tool is sooo easy to use and enables you to make such striking bows to add to your creations. I topped the bow off with a matching button.

Welcome to the Jungle

Hi there

Barbara here with the first designer post for the month.

This month here at Craft-Dee Bowz the theme for the Designers is pets animals or bugs. I decided to use a stamp that I have had for years. I love this giraffe. He is so pretty. Don't you just want to pet him.

That paper behind the giraffe was made using an embossing folder and I then used Distressed Inks to arrive at the colors on the background panel. The brown ripped paper piece is from a scrapbook sheet that I had in my stash. Perfect for this card.

Let me show a closer view of this bow.

I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make my bow. Easy peasy with that great tool. Your bows can look like this too when you use the CDB tool.
